    Right, I've started work on Nivade 3 (Other owner is finishing Nivade 2).

    What style/colors should I go for within this design, any helpful ideas will be +REP'd.

    Bare in mind Nivade is a social networking website.

    I was thinking of doing that, but I don't really want a layout which is going to consume heeps on bandwidth on each page.

    Yes, simplicity is important. People dont want too much on the page. Make it clean, white is a good colour to go for.

    Simplicity is what made Google so big

    Use as little images as possible, you could proberly do most of the design using CSS.

    Yeah, infact that's not a bad idea.

    Any color suggestions?

    Last.fm has a pretty good design, nice and basic. I think I have any idea of how I want the layout, but I still need color ideas.

    I would use these types of colours;

    The whites for the majority of the layout, the greys for the footers, headers and main text on the whites, and then use properly not one of the 3 actual colours I've got there but something close to them for things like the logo and for text to stand out, like hyperlinks. (But just one not all three)
