It makes it get done a lot quicker, otherwise they would have to type out the names of all the entrants.

I've always used it in competitions for the ease of copy+paste. It's especially useful when people use symbols in their names and you're trying to PM them.

it is just easyer for the people to see tbh
if they have to go through aload of entries it just helps them alot
