Alright, I connect my ethernet through router ect...

I got IP address is alright. Network adapter alright but DNS fails. How can i fix this?

Ill add rep+ if it works.

I have a BT Home Hub, it does have wireless for laptops but not my desktop PC. well I dont know how to if there is.

after you set it up it says about the silver live thing

Start > Run > Cmd > Type "ipconfig /all" you should have all information DNS etc, enter that all into Xbox and it should work. Sometimes you may need to change last digits to get it to work.

You need Xbox Live gold membership which I believe you have from looking at your profile, well done!

Right GTA IV is the most difficult game to get online working straight off so no wonder your confused, every other game is click 'Multiplayer' in the main menu and your off but no GTA IV confuses things.

You need to do two missions on GTA IV first, one of them you'll be given a mobile phone. Press up on the D-Pad to open your phone and select Multiplayer and choose a playlist.

If you've never played multiplayer online before it might be a little confusing and GTA IV's multiplayer is pretty confusing too.
