    Default Network Help?

    Hi guys.
Basically I have a desktop PC without a dvd drive and a laptop with a dvd drive.
I need to use the drive to install WoW Game.
Is there anyway to use the dvd drive on the laptop through the PC? Through the wireless hub? or usb ports? or anything else?

Put the disc in your laptop, start > My computer > right click on the CD and click explore.

Copy the contents of the disc to a pen drive and then plug it into your PC and run the installer from the copied files?

You can share the drive as if it was a folder.

I don't want to spend any money on an external dvd drive but thanks.

It's a 3.8gb file so too big for my pen drives =/

Network the two computers together via ethernet or wireless and right click on the CD drive on your laptop and click properties. Go to the sharing tab and click "Share this Folder" and hit apply. On your PC without the drive click start > run (or vista just type in the search box thing) and type: \\COMPUTER-NAME-WITH-THE-CD-DRIVE\ Then locate the CD drive.

Or just get a friend to lend you some web hosting or go onto a free web host that gives you a ton of free webspace but will go down the next day ( you don't need it longer than a day) and compress the contents of the cd, upload the zip file, download the zip file on the computer, uncompress, run. voila.
    Kind Regards,

    Guy

You would spend the whole day uploading nearly 4GB.
