Hey.
Up until now I have only briefly backed up and stuff.
However, the other month I lost all my stuff so it kinda taught me a lesson, and as I have now also started uni it's pretty important I don't lose anything from my new laptop.
Therefore, I am currently in the process of looking to buy an external harddrive to backup all my work.
I am pretty strapped for cash at the moment (being a student and all) so am looking for the cheapest sort of out there, but with a good memory that will last me.
I have looke don ebay and have found some alright ones goign for about 20 quid... so just wondering if anyone knows of anywhere or one cheaper?

i bought a buffalo one, it cost me about 70 quid and its got a 250Gb capacity - i think

thats where i got mine from, i think it was from there anyway i can't remember now, I have bought stuff from there though and delivery is reasonably quick

External Hard Drives are usually for big file sizes and lots of stuff so they come at quite a high price. If you've only got word processing documents or something like that, you don't even need an Ext. HDD - just a flash drive.

The more you spend on an external HDD, the better the value for money it becomes as you get a better storage to price ratio. Your cheapest option would be backing up to CDs and DVDs every so often or keeping an up to date copy on a flash drive or maybe on the university network?
