it has a few functions, but mostly youre supposed to discover new music from it. it looks at what you listen to, then based on other people with similar music tastes (say a network of arctic monkeys fans) makes some recommendations. like, i used to get smashing pumpkins on the top of my recommendations list all the time because i used to listen to tons of 90's alternative bands like foo fighters and rhcp. theres an actual formula they use probably, but you get the idea. but a lot of people use it only for the "what im listening to" charts.

i had last.fm yeaaaaars ago. i probably started using it about 3 years ago, havent used it for about a year and a half though. they used to have a code for the feeds, so you could make your own 'what i'm listening to' image for signatures from complete scratch. it was awesome. then they got rid of it, and i didnt see a purpose for me to use it any more. i dont really like the image maker on the site.

mine was last.fm/user/slstratocaster. other than radiohead being #1, i dont listen to the majority of the music there anymore. so thats another reason i havent been using it. i might start again though.

not bad! im in college now, ive been busy as helllll haha. but i came home for a bit now im bored
