Sponsors sign a deal with clubs right, and they sign a deal that states they are not allowed to release company (aka club) information such as transfers, contrcts updates etc without permission.

1. If they have permission so would the media.
2. If what your dad said, he can get fired from his job for releasing important private data. (OTHERWISE THE MEDIA WOULD BE INVOLVED)
