I prefer the 1st one, because it has the weird grey bit which looks pretty sexi.

Maybe try adding a grey colour to the banner?

Haha I just fooled around with the circle brush in PS and came out with that, quite pleased with it

Yeah it lacks something I agree with you there. If I made the banner dark grey it's in danger of becoming too bland if you ask me, the blue makes it fresh.
