Buy the epic mount training from a trainer who belongs to a faction you are exalted with, it reduces the price down to 480g then 80g for the actual mount which isn't so bad.

I wouldn't ask them for money, they are stingy, i used to give them bare delights and money and when i need 100g they wouldn't even part with 50g. I would give you the extra 400g but i only have 20g myself at the moment, sorry.
