    Default Linksys and wireless

    Well a few weeks ago i had my computer on wireless in the other room, but then i decided to move back to wired. But the room the modem in is really cold so i want to move my computer into the next room which is much warmer. I did exactly everything what i did last time and heres some pictures of the linksys box.

    Front

    Back

    I got the internet wire plugged into my modem and the internet light flashes on the front on the linksys box and i connect to it it says "Local - Signal Strenth - Excellent" but it doesnt give me the icon with the computer and the world just the computer .

    Last time i rang linksys they sorted it out but it took 4 HOURS!!! on the phone and ran my bill up like hell

    Any help on how to fix this?

    Thanks

    edit: im connecting using this

    If its only two computer icons thast means it connected to the network but not the internet, so theres a problem with the internet, not being plugged in properly, moden not on or something

    Evidently not or something else is wrong as that means theres no internet connectivity, if you open the Windows Network and sharing thing you'll see you can connect to the network but there'll be an X across the line or the internet or something.

    Go on 192.168.2.1 or whatever the linksys gateway is and see if its connect to the internet.

    This might go way over your head but unfortunatley I can't explain it better because I've never used Vista;

    Do you have DCHP on or off? If it's on, try turning it off and vice versa.
    i've been here for over 8 years and i don't know why

    If you aint fixed it you need to find out how to log into the router.
    You can then test everything from there and fix the problem.
