I have a cold and it's terrible lol, my nose is always stuffed up and my throat is always sore. I've been offered to stay off school but I cant miss any days this year as I need 95%+ to get back into 6th form.

I always used to get these and ruined me from working, it was that bad. I wear this firmal vest which keeps me really warm, havent had a cold since. You should get one, their very good (not saying it will keep really cold weathers away like -5)

If your finding medicines aren't working very well there are some more 'natural' ways you can use to make it go away quicker. Blow your nose often and right away, clears your mucus right out , but be careful not to blow too hard. Keep rested up and keep warm obviously. Gargle, moisten your sore throat and that should bring some short relief, even put salt in to reduce tickle and make sure the water is warm. Drink hot luquids aswell, use slave under your nose, sleep with an extra pillow under your head and take warm showers.

These were helpful for me so should hopefully help you.

Oh so thats who I have caught it off! My throat has been hurting for a few days to the point I cannot raise my voice when it is needed. I developed a 'runny' nose two days ago and started coughing today. But I hate medicine so I'd rather let my immune system do it's job
