I have no idea why my RAM has always been 5.9 but I won't complain. if I bought a 8800 GT would that bump my gaming graphics and normal graphics high?

You could go with phenom or better version of AMD dual core, but i'd suggest you save your monies and get a new mobo + processor instead of new AMD one
