Default Layout - Rate 'n Slate

    Hey,

I'm working on a project with a few friends and have begun mocking up the layout. I've current got two slight variants of the design.

    Layout One:

    Layout Two

Could you please reply with which you prefer, plus any general critisims and comments on the layouts.

    Thank you,
    CS-Dude

I don't like either of those layouts, they look like a quick 2 minute job !

But if i had to chose one, it would be number two

    Hey,

5 minutes. Though they are mocked up in html and css, rather than being images.

Any specific improvements you can suggest to give them a more "professional" look?

    Thanks

    P.S, i meant the first picture (http://img262.imageshack.us/my.php?image=lay1bj1.jpg)

It looks very amutureish, maybe get a different colour scheme, and get rid of the white in the middle

I don't like either of them, they look old. The second one is the best though.

Both of them looks quite old.
The colours are boring, same with the fonts.
Try adding gradients, and make it un-plain
