I don't think sex is the be all end all when it comes to sexuality. I think you know when you're attracted to someone, whether it be emotionally, physically or sexually. I personally identify as bisexual or pansexual, and I always have, even though at one stage I felt no sexual attraction whatsoever to either gender, and at another no sexual attraction to females.
Sexuality is about emotions and physical intimacy as well as sexual intimacy. When it comes to sex, you have to have some underlying desire to want to do it - if you don't, and you do it anyway, it's bound to be an unpleasant experience and wouldn't tell you anything either way if you were, for some reason, looking for answers.
So no, I don't think that you have to had sex with someone of the same or the opposite gender to determine your sexuality.

K I already typed a reply to this yesterday but it looks as if it didn't actually post so I'll compose another..

The entire "you don't know until you've tried it" thing is **. You'd have to be at least halfway interested to willingly have sex with someone of the same gender, because if you weren't, it'd just tell you what you already know - you're not gay/bi.
Then again, sexuality isn't necessarily all about sex. You'll know if you're attracted to someone of the same gender - whether it be in an emotional, physical or sexual sense. You don't need to have sex with someone to prove or disprove your sexuality to anyone, including yourself.
I've known for sure that I'm attracted to both genders for probably around six years now, even though at one stage I wasn't sexually attracted to either gender, and at another I was sexually attracted to males, but not females. I still desired emotional and physical intimacy with both, however, so I still called myself bi or pansexual. There is a lot more to it than just what you feel downstairs, as such. Haha.
This was pretty lame compared to my post yesterday, but it has the same general message, so yeah.

Sexuality has nothing to do with sex.

If you question your own sexuality then obvi your not gonna be totaly straight or totaly gay. But having sexual experience just to prove your the way you are hmm..

If your gay you will know from a young age i guess as there is such a thing as a gay gene.

Its been proved that you're born with your sexuality. Trying sexual acts with both sex's may have somewhat an effect but it's not the main reason.

I think you could know your sexuality as soon as you get turned on or "prefer" a certain sex, you wouldn't have to actually have sex to know what you would like to do .
