    Default Updating Ubuntu..

    Hello everyone..

I was just wondering, how do I update my Ubuntu (I think it is 7.10??) to the latest one by CD? (Don't have a DVD drive in the computer ). I don't want to download the one from the Software Update because that means it possibly won't download for free, whereas if I download it from my ISPs website it is under the 'unmetered content'.

So, to cut the long story short: How do I upgrade to the latest Ubuntu from Ubuntu 7.10 ?

It will upgrade for free, its not that big an update, so IMO save the hassle and do it from software update

I don't really understand your post. But it does not cost anything to upgrade via Software update. Also you may just want to download 8.10 and burn it to a CD and install/update using that.
