    Default Urrg work issues

I'm currently working as a temp at Fujitsu providing technical support. I'm not actually hired by Fujitsu I'm employed by an external agency called Kelly Services who I have signed contracts with. Basically I am a Kelly Services employee who has been put in a job placement at Fujitsu until I get bored and want to leave or Fujitsu agree to take me on.

Basically for the last two months when I first asked about it I was lead to beleve by Fujitsu I wouldn't need to book Christmas day, boxing day and new years day off since these are bank holidays. I only really need to book them off if I want to get paid for having them off but me not being to bothered just thought I'd just taken them of un paid...

Now two weeks before christmas Fujitsu have dropped a bomb shell and said because not enough people have volunteered to work on christmas all 'Fujitsu' employees names will be put in a hat and thats how they'll decide who is working on these days.. well I'm not a 'Fujitsu' employee I'm a Kelly services employee so I automatically assumed that didn't include me.. however when I asked my team leader she said that 'it does include you because all kelly services employees are on 24/7 contracts meaning they are contracted for 365 days a year including bank holidays meaning they can be forced to work.. like Fujitsu employees'

Being annoyed about this as soon as I got home I checked in my contract and it said somthing along the lines of 'you only have to work bank holidays if you receive a written letter from Kelly' So I decided to call my 'manager' from Kelly services up and asked her about it.. she told me that Fujitsu wouldn't know anything about my contract and she'd investigate it.. I've also arranged a meeting with her later on this week to discuss it.. but something has just occured to me.. has moaning like this ruined my chances of becoming perminant and progressing further with Fujitsu this is my first 'proper' job since college and I really don't want to fluff it up also I'm really mad that they are trying to force me to work over christmas and giving me such little notice after I've made all of my plans rofl but yeah this thread was mainly for me to rant but you can leave advice/comments if you want
I’ll be a story in your head, but that’s okay, because we’re all stories in the end. Just make it a good one, eh? Because it was, you know. It was the best. A daft old man who stole a magic box and ran away. Did I ever tell you that I stole it? Well, I borrowed it. I always meant to take it back. Oh, that box, Amy, you’ll dream about that box. It’ll never leave you. Big and little at the same time. Brand-new and ancient and the bluest blue ever. And the times we had, eh? Would had…Never had. In your dreams, they’ll still be there. The Doctor and Amy Pond and the days that never came.

It shouldnt affect your chances, i bet most staff as pissed off and acted the same way, you were only doing what your contract entitles you to do and pointing it out to them.

Being an agency worker, your contact will bind in with the company who you're working for at the time. As Fujitsu are paying your agency for you to work for them, obviously regulations set out by Fujitsu are to be followed out by yourself also. Career advancement could possibly be affected if you complain as your employer will see it as a negative attribute and that will stick in their mind. Obviously you can only advance higher once you're a contracted employee to them solely.

call in sick on that day, or flat out say no.
I'm at a point in my life where I don't care if you like me or you don't. If you like me, cool. If you don't, meh.
