Yes, there are millions of ways to get infected without an antivirus/antispyware and a firewall.

On my PC I run AVG. On my Mac I don't run anything (yet, I haven't looked into getting virus protection for my mac because I don't know what I'm exposed to).
I'm not crazy, ask my toaster.
