If the current chat client isnt being used then what makes you think that a shoubox will :S

Chatboxs will just get spammed. They will be no use to the majority of people as too many will be typing uselss rubbish into it. It would be extreamly hard to moderate aswell, and has been said to slow down the forum.

You can limit the nubmer of posts a second etc.

They are both pretty much the same.

Noone uses the current chat and you have to enter it before you can type. With the chat at the top, you can simply just type in there, and it wouldn't be really spammed, it would just be quick and simple chats between members, as other people would use the forums aswell. It could cause less legs because posts may decrease slightly, but not no way in a significant way.

Everyone is assuming it will be a bad idea, but I think if it's trialed, we could then base our judgements and opinions on that and then decided whether or not to keep it using a public poll.

I agree with you here.
It would cause too much lag to the forum and after a while people wouldn't bother with it, HabboxChat was used often when it was first created but after a week or so it was more or less forgotten.

In summary: ew. This has been suggested times over and it's been rejected every single time. It will lag, it will be a fountain of rule breaking and it defeats the object of a forum in my opinion.

No thanks, I don't like this idea... I see this on other forums and I really dislike it
It makes the forum lag especially on a forum on this scale everyone will be on there, take the spam section for example I don't think you can go 5 mins without a new thread, they'll turn into the "Chatbox Crew"
