    Default College in America

I was thinking of going to college in the US right, just like because I want something different to living here. But I was just wondering like whether I would be able to get into a college and like what grades I would need or whatever seen as I don't do SATs like they have there if you get me?

Also I wondered whether like I would be a lot better off finishing my A-levels and then just going to a university in the UK?

    Any tips?

You can take SATs in london, also you don't get a student loan if you go abroad for uni. Do a year at uni in the uk, then transfer to usa

College in America? Where do you expect to live, how do you expect to eat and drink with no money? Since your probably only 15 I think your getting way to ahead of yourself. Now let me be, my xbox elite has just arrived.

Yeah college means university here. And as far as SAT's or grades that are necessary, it all depends on what college you were thinking of going to. Some of the more elite schools, such as the Ivy league ones, are highly competitive, especially for out of state. For example, I go to Cornell and I had a 2250 on my SAT & a 3.8 GPA, and that was on top of a lot of extracurricular stuff and an IB diploma. A lot of people say Cornell is one of the easier Ivies to get into though, so schools like Harvard and Stanford have a majority of students with 2400's and 4.0 GPAs. But then, these are like the very very top 1% of schools. There are a HUGE amount of schools here that you can pick from that will be within your range of grades/scores as well as will be comfortable for you in terms of cost, the way the campus is, dormitory life, greek life, etc. I suggest first going to www.collegeboard.com to take a look at some schools and try to find some potential matches (if you fill in a questionnaire they give you a list of schools they think is a match for what you're looking for) or you can browse aimlessly and take a look at a lot of schools. It has a lot of helpful stats and information about the schools, and then you can follow links to the websites of schools, and there you can find the admissions requirements for international applicants. It varies from school to school, but if you take a look you can find out what stuff you need, IE what tests they offer internationally that you could take. Also, another useful site to use is www.collegeconfidential.com where they have a ton of information on colleges for you. You can also go to their forum at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/ and take a look around at threads people have posted - it's a very active forum and there are a lot of students stressing about the application process. There are also a large amount of international students that use the forums and you'll likely find some threads that are useful to you. If you decide you're interested in a larger school, they have threads that are specific to schools, and depending on their popularity, it's pretty active and you'll get your questions answered.

So yeah.. I hope that helped! If you have any more questions, I'd be glad to help. I went through the college process not long ago, and I'm about to start looking into the vet school admissions process soon, so I'm pretty well versed with college admissions Just send me a PM!

And good luck with whatever you decide to do!
