You may or may not know, the internet was started to the public (Before Arpanet evetually took over) with bulletin boards known as USENET, Basically you would dial in and you would get a bulletin board with posts (Like this one) and binary files such as movies, pictures, audio etc. USENET is still used today but to keep most of the "kiddies" away and the costs of running the servers, a membership fee is levied against members of the servers (costs between $1.99 to $24.99) and binary retention (How long from the binary files are kept on the server) of between 7 to 240 days and text retention of over 1600+ days across the board. Some ISPs offer free access but these are known to be unreliable
So what USENET server do you use?
For me it would be:Server:
Package:
Transfer allowed:
Retention for binary files:
Cost:
Server: Giganews
Package: Platinum
Transfer allowed: Unlimited
Retention for binary files: 240 days
Cost: $24.99/month

I'm gonna give it ago - I will try Jade first but will probably go to Bronze later just for the increased retention - 30 days is rubbish. I don't need very much bandwidth cos I just wanna download bits and pieces.
