A band just gets worse with each album, I was listening to the Infest album by Papa Roach today and then I listened to the Paramour Sessions and noticed how bad they've gone.

well yeah bands like that anyway. alternative rock is notorious for pumping out one-hit wonder bands. most bands get worse with each proceeding album, though a common and seen as a stereotypical band formula is: breakout/debut album > sophomore slump/mediocre album > critically acclaimed album. but yeah, most bands just get worse which is a shame, but a lot of bands can still be good bands even if they arent as good as they used to be.

but yeah it's normally like what sam said, then on the 4th things go all weird and experimental. not many bands i listen to actually make it to 3 albums anymore. the only band i can think of whose 3rd album is better than the 1st or 2nd is radiohead.

Basshunter has allways been tacky music for 14 year old's mobile phones and always will be.

Anyway, the Killer's last 2 albums have been shocking.

and green day. and nirvana. and modest mouse. haha theres a bunch, but whatevz. bands usually go down two paths: conforming to pop or becoming antipop. but what sucks is that people get mad when they do either.
