DVD's to mpg4?

I'm getting a video iPod so instructions/programmes to turn dvd's to iPod format (I think mpg4) would be really appreciated.

The best free program which you can use is HandBrake. I use this myself and the quality of the output is top notch.

Is it easy to use and computer-illiterate proof?

Yes, very easy to use. You can find guides on their website to help. The only downside to the program is the conversion time, can take up to 2hrs or so for a lengthy film. Although, the output is well worth the wait.
