Everyones allowed an opinion because Habbox is a community and we want to allow everyone to have an input to a final decision. It's not fair to single out a group of people and allow them to vote while everyone else can't as that will bring on arguments and it just isn't fair, nor is it necessary. Just because it isn't going the way you want it to doesn't mean only a select group of people should vote. It doesn't work that way in normal society so it won't work that way at Habbox.

I chose Make a Wish because cancer research may give money to research cancer for future patients, but a Wish for a current patient I think is better.

Wow I can't believe so many people have voted for RSPCA over these other charities. You know something's wrong with society when people would rather save a rabbit than a human.

Is it though, are animals any less than humans? Simply because we hunt them doesn't make their lives worth less.

Last time I checked rabbits don't kill their own.

Its all about your outlook on the world, its not necessarily a failing of society - the biggest failing of society is that we essentially cannibalistic in that apart from natural causes humans are much of the reasons for other humans' deaths.
It costs nothing to be a good friend.

I'm afraid I also prioritise Charities, although I understand animal cruelty should be stopped etc, I see saving humans as a much greater priority. I'm not saying that until we've perfected the Human Race we should then go and cure animals, I'm simply saying that most Charity work should go to Human related Charities or something like Wikipedia which I'd actually see the benefits of every day.

I'd put a fair wager that all these people who have slated Cancer Research have never lost anyone to Cancer?

Non-humans, with the possible exception of dolphins, are by no means sentient and don't even understand the "suffering" that happens to them, whereas human suffering is fairly well noted and felt not only by the individual but also all those around them. This isn't the place for such a debate though.

More to the point though, surely if we sort out the human race we'll be more equipped to help animals

That's your choice, you saying that for you human-based charities are more important to you is fine, saying that something is wrong with someone who believes in preventing animal cruelty is another thing. After all, it is humans who cause animal cruelty It is beneficial to us to prevent our culture from becoming savages, just the moral value is different for all. Plus, almost all serial killers enjoy torturing animals. Personally I am inclined towards human based charities however just because someone else feels more strongly about preventing humanity from disintegrating by preventing animal cruelty doesn't make society a failure.

I don't think anyone is slating the cause - but instead slating the organization and their inefficiency towards a certainly worthy cause.

And if we catch those torturing animals we can stop 80% of serial killers
