And when does that get decided? Before the trial, after the trial?

I've applied although I have strong doubts as to whether I'll even be considered. :eusa_wall I'll be different though this time if I do get it but I guess it's pretty unlikely.

They decide which forum(s) you moderate but after a while you're sometimes given an option to change or moderate more. It gets decided before but sometimes it's changed when you pass the trial.

This is just a presumption but when Alex and the rest have selected the Moderators, they'll be asked what section they want to moderate - Just a guess

If you're good at the job you will check like all the threads in your forum, I did anyway - which is time consuming :S Maybe you just weren't any good

It all depends on how you use the forum normally. For example, I float around the tech section a fair bit so moderating it wouldn't be too much of an issue for me because I read through most threads anyway, but if I was moderating the entertainment forum it'd be a larger drain on my time. Generally people who moderate their favourite forums (which we generally try to set up) make the best mods because they're doing it to clean up their own sections rather than just "some random section somewhere else on the forum".
