Default Building a nice gaming computer

Story starts off like this. I got a nice HP Pavilion laptop for Christmas, as my old one, custom built by http://www.niagaraelectronics.com which is a computer place in my city turned out to be a piece of junk they made so I'd have to continue bringing it in for repairs just to shell out more money. (Turns out they're going out of business )

I bought Elder Scrolls Oblivion for the PC and it works beautifully on this lappy, however, I have to have all my graphics sliders to the lowest, and I had to edit the INI file settings too.

I want to build a nice gaming computer that'll allow me to play Oblivion, as well as other games without major video lag.

I have a pretty good idea on the video card. ATI Radeon something or other, but I'm clueless as to everything else. Windows Vista (newest edition, which I have on this lappy and works beautifully) is a must.

    Halp? I r clueless.

No, ATI Radeon 4850, it's pretty much the best price/performance ratio on the market.

That's not what he said, he said it was the best price for it's performance not that it's the best. ATI are far better value for money at the end of the day.

Oh and your 9800 is not the best

I'm starting from the ground up. I'll need everything.

If anyone has any more suggestions, please, email me at [email protected] , as I am leaving this hellhole you call a forum.
