I reckon I am going to mash together yours and jewish bears. (Maybe get some from aria if big difference however with one supplier then I can get one delivery day)

So I am going to get his hdd config (4x 500gb, I loled and then another ssd with 64gb or something) Not sure why jewish bear went for palm version though for mobo . Keeping my case for space. Is the cooling in the case enough or do I need more like gfx card cooling? Also with the fan that comes with cpu is it going to cope with overclock or not as I heard this processor gets to 3ghz quite easily.

You'll need to get a non-stock cooler for the CPU, get my GFX card and the cooler, that'll overclock nicely, also get my case if you can, it's the same amount of space, just the P182 doesn't look like OH GOD BLUE LED's and has good cable management.

It's up to you, but in my opinion 2 x 1TB HDDs in RAID 0 would perform better than 4 x 500GB HDDs in two RAIS 0 arrays.

If you go for the 4 x 500GB option then i recommend going on Aria and getting 500GB Samsungs. Ebuyer don't seem to have any.

It depends what models of 1TB hard drives and 500GB drives you get. If you have a 1TB with 3 320GB platters and a 500GB with 2 250GB platters, the 500GB drive would outperform the 1TB.

Also, remember you're talking about onboard RAID here. two arrays running side by side is going to damage performance.

What you getting all the extra SATA cables for? You still need a DVD-RW drive as well.

SSD's are not worth it at the moment. I mean what can you do with 60GB? Yes, you can install your programs onto the 500gb drive but that defeats the purpose as it'll only go as fast as the hard drive will allow. The only benefit would be a quicker boot time for windows. Paying £100 for 10-20 seconds off boot time? Not worth it

Why did you remove the ssd?

What are you talking about, you install OS and programs onto the SSD, all your storage goes onto the 4x500gb, it's very worth it.

I don't know about you, but i can no way fit all my programs into 45GB not including games. Right click on your program files folder and tell me how much space it's taking up.

It would be better to get 2 and RAID them
