If you are selfish, they are not equally bad. If you love and are never loved, it will hurt. Life will suck. If you are loved but never love, this doesn't hurt you. If you never experience love, you don't know what you would miss. The concept of love would be only a vague conceptualised idea until it is experienced.

I would much rather be loved but never love. Someone else will be in the same boat I didn't want to be... but it's okay to be selfish.
