    Default Recent Competition

    Hey there,

I'd like to comment on the "lolling, rofling" competition thing:
    http://www.habboxforum.com/showthrea...20#post5640220

The competition requires no input from the person that enters - they simply need to find a video, unlike other competitions which require people to be creative, write stuff, draw graphics, etc.

I don't think competitions like this are worthy of prizes such as 2 HC sofas as finding a link isn't too hard, and the prize could be added to another competition which requires effort and skill or used in a different competition.

    Cheers,
    H0BJ0B

    Hey!

Erm, well in a way, you do have to browse youtube to find and entry, in another way, I see your point.

Either way, I'll send Danny to this thread, and he'll deal with it

I don't very often look in the 'Competition' forum, but title caught my attention. I must say I do agree on what has been said above.

I hope you don't mind me adding to it, not criticism, more observation.

http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=564383 Not very competitive - Big prize 2 HCs

I think prizes should be given based on difficulty, with the exception of the Lottery of course. The Lottery is obviously working really well, and attracts many entries and must get a lot of attention on the hotel too, so it pulls in new members. It's about the easiest competition there is to enter, it's fun, I hope it continues for a long time.

I know there are never many entries for alt competitions, which can take up many hours to produce an entry, and therefore I think it would be nice to see the odd alt comp, with a big prize, I don't know something perhaps like 40/50 credits or 5 HCs. Also I do think a better variety of competitions are required. I think 3 of the above are based on humour, correct me if I'm wrong.

Thank you for both your inputs.

I will take the information on board when posting the next competition. Looking back, I think I have been a little to generous with the prize

I agree totally, some competitions are very easy to enter and if you win then it was easy and you would probably enter again. I think that if you had to challenge yourself more to do something then the prize would be more meaningful to you and that someone has taken the time to read, look at etc you would know that time is being put into the competition just like you put into your entry.

Some events are one line answers to win some good prizes. I think it would be better if more complex competitions were made for bigger better prizes. You could cut down on some extremely easy competitions which would make up much better prizes and more people would enter making it more of a competition.

    @ MISS ALICE

You should of saw my caption image - we should of used myn

Anyway, thanks for that detailed reply I do certainly see your point of view, and I couldn't agree more... Erm, I assume that Danny would prefere alt comps to be set through him, instead of the average monthly competition, but I'm not sure... It all depends on his ideas. As for the range of competitions, we do usually try and ... "Share" these out, if you like... For example, (and I'm not very good with words here), if somebody posted a public competition such as "HaHa!... Not" Then Somebody else may decide to do a more creative competition such as "The Perfect Video Game"... These are just random names I thought of the top of my head

    In Conclusion (<-- Yay)

You have made a very good point and it most certainly will be taken under advice

Thanks for reading what I've had to say, as I said it is merely my observation. Easy competitions are great, as some members are as young as 11, and it's nice to have competitions for every ability, as this allows everyone to enter. But at the same time there needs to be a balance, competitions that are challenging and not so easy lol.

Perhaps the odd acrostic, VALENTINE could of been used, EASTER EGG could be used, or how about a funny poem, if so many like humour here I know a poem on Habbox (no more than 20 lines long) a good prize of maybe 4/5 HCs or 40/50 creds.

    I've said enough lol.

Caption competition is great, surprised there aren't more entries.

I also would like to donate 100 HCs to help boost competitions, so I will be in touch during the week.
