Designer clothes are well made but too expensive.
Discount/High Street shops are rubbish but cheap (depending on what shop)

Depends where you shop. I have Matalan jeans which have lasted longer than any designer jeans, and Matalan isn't that expensive But they could be considered mid-range - reasonable and long lasting.
