Is the bog-standard 13 Inch MacBook (The white one) Worth it?

I Really want a mac for educational purposes and entertainment..

So is it worth it, and i know about macs - I just want to know if it would last a long time, it would be used every day.
Would it be fairly 'Future Proof' If so, how long would it last me?

Im talking standard here, no extras. As apples getting expensiver by the day ¬.¬

Well, i'd be doing a bit of science stuff, like.. graphic stuff, Graphics work, playing Flash/Java games

also things like, OSX's ease of use, and that you can run multiple programs, without it going too slow..

They are basically the same inside, and in fact the White 1 is newer as it's only just got an internal upgrade, personally I prefer the old ones to the new 1's and you'll be able to do the same things on both.
