    Default Blank screen on startup.

When I startup I get a black screen. I have to use Task Manager to start the app. 'explorer.exe'. So I'm guessing explorer.exe isn't set to startup automatically, I've been in msconfig but I can't add it in there. Does anyone know how I could fix it or add it to the startup items?

    Thanks.

Edit: this should maybe be in technical problems i dunno.

I've encountered this problem before and as a solution I reinstalled SP2, which seemed to work fine. Although several things cause this. If that fails, open run and type regedit. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon and make sure the value is shell="explorer.exe".

You know, there's this amazing site called Google, where you can search for Windows errors and come up with solutions, instead of being rude to the users on HxF who are under no obligation to help you.

Wow, I'm surpised you didn't just try and convince me to buy a Mac. I've tried the Run command but it can't be found. Also, no I've never heard of that site called Google but I will check it out. Thanks anyway. (y)

-Rep. No wonder nobody has helped you. You're incredibly rude.

If you had done your research, I use a Windows machine as well as a Apple machine. If I was going to convince someone of anything, it would be to get rid of vista:rolleyes:.
