Default Can't open my mouth that much :(

    Hi all.

Well theres this problem that started occuring on about thursday, ive always had a clicking jaw, when i eat it clicks and whatever, but now in the morning for about 2 hours after i get up i cant open my mouth more than half way, when i try and open it more i get this really bad pain in the my side of my my jaw, like a muscle being torn or stretched, but if i move the bottom bit of my jaw to the left or right i will sometimes be able to open it all the way. But it really hurts and i cant eat cos i can't fit anything in. After aboujt 2 hours it just wears off and i can open my jaw all the way, but it still clicks.

Does anyone know whats wrong with it?

If this had of started about two days ago and you'd been bitten by something, I'd say it was lockjaw.
But you haven't, have you banged it in any way since when it started hurting? Or taken any new medicine?
You could try putting something you find soothing onto it, like a warm flannel or something, it might ease it up.
You should try seeing the Doctor if it doesn't get better.

I used to have this problem.
A clicky jaw is a problem that you'll probably never get rid of, but I experienced the exact same thing, I went to see my GP and he simply said it was just a growing process, and if you're jaw is clicky it just happens or something.

I can't have suffered from it for more than a year, try to exercise your jaw a lot when you can open it, up/down side to side etc, then it will eventually become less & less often, and it hasn't happened to me in a very long time
