Default HELP! The Sims 2 terminates :(

Okay, so I have Double Deluxe, Seasons, Apartment Life and Freetime installed. Whenever I run it, it starts up fine, but it skips the opening credits and automatically goes to the startup (blue blocky loading screen). I installed a new driver and everything when it did this the last time and it worked, but it broke and stopped working last Saturday or so. It really is angering me because I want to play! I have a Windows Vista and I've tried EVERYTHING. If you have any other HELPFUL suggestions, please tell me I don't really want to re-install or call Maxis unless I have to, so if you think thats the ONLY option, then tell me

Thanks to anyone who helps! If it works I'll +rep you!

what happens after it skips the starting screen?
it crashes to desktop with an error message? or without one?

im assuming the error message had a code, if so google something along the lines of "Sims 2 crash error CODE#" but put the error code where CODE# is.
