Surely it flopped into the sea, not explode into a thousand shards in a Sonic emerald-hunt sort of way? It sounds like they answered the mayday call quite fast, so hopefully it won't take a long time to find them, especially when, if the information was correct, that the helicopter is built with an in-built inflatable raft thing that opens up when the helicopter comes in contact with water, so I'd imagine it'll be bopping somewhere in one piece. If anyone has gotten lost, then something must be seriously wrong if they can't sit still in a floating helicopter...

Yeah and in the previous Helicopter going into the North Sea 2 months ago because it was at night it was used to ensure none of the helicopters went into each other, a bit like a temporary air traffic control.

True but if everything went to plan like it was meant to then the Helicopter wouldn't of came down in the first place.

And can fly in much worse weather then the helicopters can. Like one of the above posters have said it was used in very crap weather to assist the helicopters so they didn't crash into each other. The Nimrod can also be used as an operations centre mid-hair. So yeah, . R.I.P to any who may have died.
