    Default TehUpload Application 2.3

Well I've been working on this since yesterday. I finally have been able to get back into Windows developing (thanks to Parallels :] which is amazing).

I threw together this little crappy teaser trailer thing: http://dentafrice.com/post/93892017/...her-i-know-its

The major changes are really on the backend side of things, the way things are handled.

    -----------------------------

    1. You must now be a member of TehUpload to use the application. All it requires is simply signing up for an account.

It took me a while to decide if I wanted to do this or not, but to achieve my goal of more site-application integration, it had to be done.

This is displayed the first time you use it.

    2. Percents (file progress) has now been added to the application, in the main window.. at the bottom.

    3. The hotkeys still remain a popular feature for the users.

    4. The speed has improved majorly, as well as the "null exception" error which kept a lot of users from being able to proceed.

    5. I've cut the file size down to almost half a megabyte.

There's going to be more coming soon. This is just for right now.

I might need a few people to test it soon.

    Thanks!

Wow, that looks good. The drag over a window feature I know I'd use a lot.
Ex-janitor. Might pop in from time to time, otherwise you can grab all my information from http://jamesy.me.uk/

Yeah the select area feature is in the current version.

You can also "hide" the application, down to your notification tray (TU icon), and press Ctrl+Alt+A and it automatically opens the select area window (among other hotkeys).

The video looks quite good.. It looks like you tried to go for a professional video (like one that Apple/Sony/Nintendo) use??

I just think you should change the last font, its a tad hard to read - haha!

    But, the app looks good

edit: What about a 'trial' part, where you can upload say 10 pictures and then you have to register to use it? (registering is still free obviously)

Well on the site you can upload as many as you want, free, without registering.

The thing is, a lot of this new application will be "based" around accounts. So it'd be a bit difficult to code in a trial system, if you know what I mean?

What if you have a database where when you upload it says "Guest" and then the ip of the guest and if it reaches 10 or something, they have to login?

Yeah, that's easy enough, but then you get down to the application level, that at the splash checks if there are user details or not. So then you'd have multiple calls to the server to see if they have any "hits" left.

    Fair enough!!

You could use a PHP page where it selects the IP from the database. (The url could be something like blal.com/checkip.php?ip=133.768.345)

Yeah, I use a lot of verifications like that, but it always comes down to the user. He could have a dynamic IP that changes everytime he logs on to the internet, meaning his hits reset everyday ;P

Appids can be easily spoofed through host files that reroute things and return false verifications.
