I know I'm not the most up to date here with the Eminem releases, but I just heard "3 AM" which to my knowledge only came out yesterday (or was leaked or whatever they want to say these days when tracks come out on the internet) and frankly.. I'm not impressed.
Compared to every single from MMLP and The Eminem Show, these new tracks are horrifically weak.
Can't be bothered to look for Crack A Bottle which is more of a Dre and 50 tune really but the "main" single release and supposed comeback after the 5 years he's had to make records can be found here and is called We Made You. It's meant to be about celebrity lifestyle and all that... yeah ok he did that with Real Slimy Shady, and everyone else has done it since then, so it's not even a good topic to start with. This could have been saved if it was a blinder of a track, but it's not his lyrical peak and even his great rhythm isn't employed right with the mediocre beat. No winners here.
Then we get 3 AM, and nothing's improved. I could listen to it without hurting myself, and I managed to do so quite easily, but it's severely lacking when you go back and listen to Without Me, The Way I Am, Cleaning Out My Closet or really any of his older works.
I've been seeing a lot of people bash Asher Roth for being a "fake Eminem", but frankly even though Asher's mixtape was unimpressive, I have to say I prefer some of it to these 3 Em releases. Opinions from you lot to follow, go go go go go
