If it was to a course like GCSE, A levels or whatever, which I presume most people do over in the UK unless you take alternative pathways i.e. Btec, IB etc. then yes they are sealed and yes they are sent off. The only things that the teacher can help you (even though the exam board doesn't like it) is coursework, and maybe oral exams if the teacher is extra nice.

If this was a internal exam which counted, I think the teacher was wrong, as clearly he doesn't know life- you can't cheat your away through (or rarely) when it comes to the real world. Plus, it isn't fair as you said on anyone. If that was the situation and I was one of those students who didn't get that help, then sure as hell I would report the teacher to the principle and exam board and make sure he learns a good old lesson. Obviously he's doing what's best and you should feel happy, but you also need to learn another lesson is think about yourself, if this is indeed going to the final grade- take the chance and run with it.

As for the subject of if it was any old 'test' just to check your knowledge of a certain chapter etc. then I would count the teacher as having a number of mental problems. Get your mark, go through what you did it class.

Anyway these are the various paths and reactions you could have from both perspectives.

    Cheers.

You wont be blamed for. Take the blame on your teacher but if there is no problem keep them for the time being.

they're marked externally and even the teachers don't get to see your script again unless it's an IAA which is 45 minuets and then it's not allowed !
