    Passed my interview today for my new job but its a proper company so done by books so i get payed into my bank account instead of cash in hand, so was wondering how much National insurance and tax i pay?

    I am on 4.30 an hour. (I am 16)

    You don't unless you're earning around £7000+ a year.

    As far as I'm aware, you don't pay any tax/national insurance until you're 18

    I'm pretty sure that's only if you're still in full time education? I'm probably wrong.

    Anyway the tax will be automatically deducted. As far as i'm aware it will be 20% income tax.

    If your payslip does charge you for tax while your under 18 you can claim it back I think. But yeah, you shouldn't until you're 18.

    Yeah i am going to college to do a full time course so i will still be in education and cool cool, just spoke to my employer and they said they will explain about tax and if i get taxed ect on my training which is cool.

    you won't pay tax (even if you do you can reclaim it) and only pay pennies in national insurance.

    Make sure you check your first pay packet to see if you have been taxed. If you have, you need to get straight on the case so you don't build up a whole load of money that you're owed by the tax office, and you usually have to wait until the end of the tax year for a reclaim to come through.

    If you are still in full time education then you shouldnt be taxed but from 17 upwards I think you will get taxed, dont have a baldy how much though.
