It's not ruining football - you have to think that 80m, most of it will go back into football - keeping the economic value of money in football the same. I know what you're saying with clubs paying stupid money but you can unearth the next Zidane for 12m and sell him for 80m then that's a job well don. You can buy another 6 Zidane's - it's good business.

At the end of the day, we took Ronaldo and made him a star. If he had been playing for any other team I really don't think he would be how he is.

He's an amazing talent and I'm sad to see him go but everyone moves on, just like Beckham did. When Beckham went, everyone claimed that we would go down hill and all this, along came Ronaldo and put an end to that. We will do the same with whoever we sign next.

Take a look at Welbeck, he's a future star and I can't wait to watch him as he grows with us.
