Microsoft is continuing to war with Google for internet dominance as it reveals the next version of its Office software will be available for free online.

OpenOffice was/is a pile of cack and I've never even touched Google Docs, it looks incredibly tacky - Microsoft don't have any competition with it.

OpenOffice isn't that bad! All it lacks for me is the ribbon (which is the single most innovative thing introduced into an office suite ever and can't be owned by anything) but apart from that I've never found it lacking in features or usability or anything like that. What don't you like about it?

The lack of easy to use features and it doesn't appear to work with a program I use for work (well, Impress .ppt files anyway). When I was making presentations in Impress, it lacked proper WordArt functionality and it didn't seem to animate as well as its Microsoft counter-part.

I also dislike openoffice. Thinks you become custom to in microsoft office seem so longwinded and complicated in openoffice.
