    Default Furnidex

It's quite possible somebody's came up with this in the past, but I just thought of it and I love it .

A Furnidex would be a tool on Habbo like the Pokédex on Pokémon , opened via either a button under your avatar or just a command (e.g. :furnidex). For the latter, other people's could be displayed using :Robald:furnidex or how ever it's done.

Anyway, the whole point of this would be to record all the types of furni that have been in the Habbo's hand/inventory. It would originally have a list of every type of furni on the hotel split into the categories, 'norms', 'collectibles' and 'rares'. (The norms would probably just contain each name once disregarding colour variations; for example, a red rug and a blue rug are both just called "Soft Wool Rug", so this would just appear once).

The Furnidex could possibly change the way Habbo is played. Rather than always collecting as many Thrones or whatever supers as possible just to gain control of its value, people would be more inclined to try and complete their Furnidex. Obviously to do so, you must constantly buy and sell furni for other furni that you need to complete it.

This may also have an interesting effect on rare values because someone who needs just one more item for instance, to complete their Furnidex, would be willing to trade a lot more than the usual value. As values would be more unique to the person, i.e. what they believe the item is worth, this in turn would make people more aware that guides such as Habbox are just that - a guide, and not a bible.

Of course, it would also have a widget on Habbo Homes and badges/awards etc and possibly even a leaderboard could obviously be incorporated into it.

    What do you think?

I think the effect on rare values would be a positive one. It would make them a lot more relaxed and make the Habbo experience a lot more relaxed also. I personally hate the way pepople act like sheep and believe the value of an item is set in stone . Would be nice to see people acting more freely and trading for what they want .

This reminds me of something like Runescape where you have to complete specific tasks to "move up a level"

Runescape's concept is based around completing missions and moving up levels, while Habbo's is different, it's supposed to be a simple hang out for teens where it's users can simply collect what they wish.. therefore I don't think it would work as well on Habbo too well.

I, personally, hate games where you have to complete missions through fighting or other boring tasks. I don't like being told what to do by a game, and that is the freedom with Habbo. I do however agree that the hype with thrones and "super rares" is pathetic..

Hmm... that's a good point actually. Although there's already countless badges/awards for doing tasks and completing stuff on Habbo. This would just be on a larger scale and still be optional.

if badges were involved it would make it bad because rich people who are obsessed with badges would ruin values by payin obscene amounts for furni

The majority of the achievements currently on Habbo aren't even for achieving anything. You get a badge for staying online, another for changing your clothes.. how nice.

Even though it would be optional, probably the whole of Habbo would do it due to it being "new" and "the thing". You can see the hype for a new badge everytime a competition comes out, so this would only encourage it.

I must admit, it's a very good idea.. but until Habbo's aim and audience change, I'd be disappointed if they implemented it.

what does 'ruin values' means though?

i dont think many people would try and collect every item of furni unless there's a reward because then you would be stuck with loads of stuff that you dont want and you havent made anything or made a profit.

Of course there'd be awards. Obviously there'd probably never be an end (there could be, but only until something else is released), but they could easily do a system like most of the current achivements whereby you get a badge for collecting 20 pieces, then 50, then 100, then 200 etc. there'd probably be 10 levels I'd say though rather than 5). And you'd also get Pixels along the way of course .
