I agree, if the management actually understood and changed their view on the age of habbox users now, then the rules could be tweaked and changed to suite the age of people that use this forum.

Surprising how big of an effect one word can have.

The idea to me sounds simple enough as i cant really think of any big downside for doing this as a one off thing
I don't think that's a real factor in the equation here. At least I don't think of it that way. If this forum was full of mostly 15-18 year olds it wouldn't matter, you still wouldn't be allowed to describe sexual acts. Not necessarily because you don't know what they are, but because if that's what you want to talk about that's fine but this isn't the place to do it.

When questions of age are involved, we have to think of the minorities too. I'm not going to start setting up an age limit on the forum so there are certain things that will probably be implemented forever (ie: the filter). I generally make decisions based on what I feel is the maturity of the forum instead of the age. The idea that age defines maturity is a misconception held by many on this forum, perhaps this is subjective but as a 13 year old staff member here I was more mature than many 17 year olds who threw tantrums on a regular basis.

There is no decision I could think of (well at least the way I choose to evaluate things) that would be affected by a polling of the average age of users, with the exception of porn and sorry to burst your bubble but that is definitely not coming to Habbox.

There are both mature and immature members on Habbox so we need to cater to both categories. The older members, perhaps more mature in some cases, and not at all in others, whine of the annoying younger members, SOME of whom, I'll admit, they have a case about. But those older members are also at fault, because they're throwing that 11,12,13,14 year old into a 17-year-old level conversation and beating them down thinking of a 17 year old, not an 11-14 year old.

Basically, this forum probably won't become a place where we say, well this is a 15-17 year old forum so if you're 11-14 you better grow up pretty fast and if you're 22 you can come down to our level or get out. It will be a place where anyone of any age group can discuss as long as they abide by the rules
It costs nothing to be a good friend.
