When you buy an iPhone 3GS, do you actually pay for the handset then pay for the monthly contract charge of £35 for example, or is it just £35 a month and the handset is free?

It depends on the contract you actually get; for the £35/month 16gb £Gs, i think you have to pay an addition £85 for the handset.
Go on carphonewarehouses website, much clearer
Luke
on most £35 pcm contracts you have to pay for the handset aswell.
but on the £45 pcm contracts you dont have to pay.

I'm pretty sure the iPhone is o2 exclusive, but you can unlock the iPhone but that would mean buying an iPhone on pay as you go then getting a sim only contract.id recommend car phone warehouse over just the single tariff shops.
