Yeah btw this happened to me....

you haven't got away with anything yet.
When paypal took the money back this was because Paypal deemed that the transaction was suspicious, this is nothing to do with the buyer at all (as I thought it was and I was only told afterwards).
At any time the buyer could choose to claim their money back (and they will most likely win).

If your withdraw the money now and this happens then you will be left with a nasty negative balance and will begin to receive letters from a debt collector within 4 weeks if your balance is not returned to 0 pounds or higher.

    Ok so here's the difference.:
Paypal reviewing the transaction: They will try to make sure that it was the actual account owner making the transaction looking in no detail at what transaction took place.
The buyer claiming the money back: Paypal will look closely at the transaction asking you for proof of postage of the product you were selling... dont have any? Amount will be taken from your account.

When Paypal gave me the money back I was thrilled and then when the claim was made by the buyer I had withdrew and spent it all and so I was puzzled as to why they were once again reviewing the transaction again, I didn't know untill they explained to me that the two reviews are completely different. Thankfully my loving parents bailed me out the amount... Still very bitter about paypal.

Oh and don't go around saying this person is a scammer as they most probably haven't taken any action into getting the money back as of yet and they may just leave the money for you. atm to me this seems like paypals problem and not the buyers. I would leave it a few weeks before you spend the money or accuse anyone of scamming.

Sigh, I wasn't as lucky with PayPal .. the buyer said I never mailed the product and reversed $200 on me. They didn't do a thing about it.

What.. so you were paid, then they reviewed the claim, then took the money away from you, then gave it back, then reviewed it again, then took the money again? :S

Wth.. so basically they keep going round in circles every time the other person claims? So if the other person claims again, I can just claim again.. again!! I don't see why the would give me the money back and allow me to withdraw it if they were still reviewing it.. surely they should hold the money themselves.

And they did try to scam me. You know the messages you send to each other in the resolution center, they were writing crap like I blocked him on MSN and was ignoring his phonecalls .

    Shoot us a PM

I don't think it's very wise selling virtual goods as it is, theres no proof for cases like these and actually, it is against the TOS of most online game, for e.g. Habbo, to sell their stuff.
