Right Green Day are my favourite band. I believe they are punk yet some ppl say they're indie and some say they're emo :p what do you lot think?

Yeah a guy said they're emo wannabes but 1. Emo wasnt around when Green Day started 2. They've been around longer than most bands these days so they cant really be wannabes. They're unique

They arent unique at all. Have you ever heard of the clash? They were inspired by them. Green day even did a song remake they did. Listen to them, and you'll see. There are bands that have been around longer. Emo was around when green day started, it just wasent the same type as today.

They are punk, their earlier stuff is more Punk than the most recent album.
All this "Pop-punk" stuff is just stupid.
Indie is like Oasis and stuff like that, Not sure what emo is exactly, but MCR are.:wav:

No doubt that green day was better in the early days. Emo means "Emotional" Like the whine whine stuff "My life stinks" stuf. Like simple plan "Welcome to my life", and most of simple plan stuff. Thats emo. Indie means independent. Sort of like no catagory stuff. Like modest mouse.

I'd say they were punk. They are not as punk as they used to be, but I reckon you could still class them as punk.
