This isn't a bad remake, and sticks to the original book which is great, however the Casting is not as good, though the kids in the original film are superb. It's pretty hard to find two people who can pull of the characters such as Violet and Veruca, as they are very demanding rolls. So I do prefer the original film.

The reason it disapointed me, was that it went against the book a little, for example...the oompa loompas, and the ending.

I did enjoy it, although the original is much more enjoyable, the modern one is much more funny, but overall the original is better, they always are.

The oompa loompas had a much better music background than the original...

It was better than the original overall, it was wittier, some plot holes were filled such as why Willy Wonka was...like Willy Wonka, and showed a bit more of the oompa loompa land...

They "killed off" the children too quickly and there was less signing on everyones behalf.

Apart from that it was good :p

oh except the bit in the original where Willy Wonka first appears, there is red carpet and he staggers out and falls into a somersault type thing..

Johnny depp didnt do that..amateur :rolleyes:
