Learn to read before posting. I said that an iTunes restore would restore the phone back to its original state (3.0).

Also, Apple can't take nobody to court over jailbreaking lol. Once I buy the phone from Apple, I can do what I want with it. Thats like Apple taking all application makers to court because they modify the software. All applications modify the software beyond what the iPhone originally has.

Its like saying if you overclock your PC then Microsoft will take you to court. You're extending it beyond its intended means but it isn't illegal.

Exactly my point. "Apple could take me to court if I sell my iPhone, because I'm giving their product to somebody else!!"

Apple tried to make it illegal to jailbreak the iPhone and iPod Touch, but the courts just threw their cases out. No matter how much Apple cry and try, it will not be illegal to jailbreak your phone. The principle is, "you paid for the device, you own the device, it is you're device to do as you please to.".

Apple have never taken a device from a customer because they have jailbroken it, this would be classed as stealing and Apple would be in the **** for it.

I think actually, you're talking out of your ass. An Apple employee would be mature enough to spell properly for a start.

Also "hacking" and decompiling code is not illegal, ever heard of open source?

Of course it is illegal, Open source is alloweed to be open source,

Apple software is not open source..

And how the hell is my spelling on this forum anything to go by, to say i dont work in Apple, Its not like Im working in a dictionary company, so you stop talking out yuour ass...

The person can be held responsible for jailbreaking an iPhone,

The same way we can be held responsibile for downloading files,
Even thou we dont host them..

So stop thinking your the smartest person alive, when you have clearly just searched all your information on google, and got unreliable answers..

    Jesus, you people are annoying..

    First off, don't double post.

How long have you been around these forums? If you had actually taken notice of any posts in this Technology forum you would have actually seen I know quite a bit about this kind of stuff, but I do admit, I am not the smartest person alive and I never claimed this, so be careful what you post.

I did not need to Google any of this information, admittedly I do Google quite a bit, this is how I learn. I also go and post on forums asking questions, answering questions, getting tips of people etc, is this a crime now? No.

Please don't post ******** without being able to prove your point. Link me to some articles where iPhones have been taken, or Apple have taken a "jailbreaker" to court please? Thanks.

So get your head out of your own, then go and learn to spell.

I refer you to this *~*amazing*~* song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QyYaPWasos

Edited by Catzsy [Forum Super Moderator]: It is also against the rules to tell others they have broken the rules. Thanks

Do you have any idea how much of an absolute **** you sound? If you restore the software, APPLE DO NOT KNOW IT HAS BEEN JAILBROKEN. The software on the device is restored to the original.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation have asked that jailbreaking phones - such as the iPhone - be an exception to the DMCA where Apple have said that they want it to be not so much illegal, but not legal either. A fuzzy gray area.

On Topic - I would personally buy a 3GS, and since its only really $5 more surely you are better going with the slightly better model?

    @Tawm - I love that song haha

To be able to restore the iPhone it needs to be turned on, If it is broken, smashed or bugged, and cant turn on, your only option would be going to Apple,

    Which was my point,
