    Default Recording Hardware

    Hey,
I've saved up around £5000 over the past couple of months because I want to begin recording a few of my songs and getting some stuff sent to record labels, and maybe allow a few other people to use my recording equipment at a cost ofc.

I'm looking for recommendations on Mixing Desks, Mic's... Any Software, computing hardware that I may need,

I can go a little over the 5k budget but basically I'm looking to turn my shed into a smalL scale recording studio (y)

    +Rep help guys

You'll need a machine to power it of course, for this I advise some kind of Mac. If possible within pricing I would advise a Mac Pro if not then another Mac will do.

    Mixer:

    Mic:

    Mic Stand:

    Headphones:

    Mostly stolen from http://wiki.twit.tv/wiki/Equipment

    I also advise http://www.adobe.com/products/audition/

Also depending on pricing (If you're on the cheap) then you'll want to line the walls e.t.c. with carpet and egg boxes to reduce sound leakage.

    Sorry for x2 post

Ok, I went through pricing e.t.c. and some stuff is no longer made so:

    Updated Mackie Mixer: (£615.99)

    Mic:
    http://www.bswusa.com/proditem.asp?item=RE20

    Headphones (Same but different provider):

Most of it now comes from the same site to save trouble, you'll get get free shipping I think aswell. The mic has an inbuilt filter and comes with a stand
