    I watched 2 movies based on his book last night needful things and dream catcher, they where good and i want to read a stephen king book, so i am wondering whats the best stephen king book to read first?

    maybe start on his first book carrie - it's quite easy to get into and a great storyline, even if it's sombre.

    then after that try one of his longer reads such as IT etc.

    His best work is It in my opinion. I'd avoid Cell if I were you. I've no idea what happened to him when he wrote that.

    even though King wasnt all too chuffed at the way the film version turned out the Shining makes for good reading.

    I'd recommend Desperation, can't remember when he wrote it but he released two at the same time that portrayed opposite sides of a dimension etc. I didn't think I would like it to begin with, but once I got into it it turned out to be quite good.

    *Oh, I would also recommend The Dead Zone, not as good, but I really loved the ending*

    I've only read Carrie by Stephen King but I've seen the movies:
    The Shining
    Carrie
    Green Mile
    Pet Cemertary
    Christine
    1804 (something like that)
    + a short story about an obese man

    I don't really understand most of the books so the movies are really good and easier to follow.

    I've got the book its in, 'Everything's Eventual', haven't gotten around to it yet though, my favourite story in it is 'The Man in the Black Suit', its awesome .
