Dropping 6th form?

@Hecktix, yeh, I'm doing 6th form at school, I don't know what I'd make of College, I think it'd be harder.

some people prefer college. if you really hate 6th form, worth making the change now, can't get much worse. do it sooner rather than later, don't endure it and have a horrible year.

I found college a lot less patronising than sixth form and afterall I have experienced both.

I found I pushed myself further at college as there's so much more self motivation involved.

I know that's a scary prospect but it's actually better when you're pushing yourself rather than having teachers push you.

although saying that this year quite a few people have moved back to our 6th form because they didn't enjoy college and nobody has done the opposite swap.

I know what you two mean, it doesn't help that the fact this year at our school, they have brought in something pathetic called, "vertical tutoring" ~ which is basically, two kids from every year (7/8/9/10/11/12/13) - one boy, one girl, all in one tutor. Which is pathetic for us 6th formers, as we get treated the same as the younger kids, we get treated like school kids, when we should be being treated like adults going to college. It's a good idea don't get me wrong, but I don't think 6th formers should be included.

And because we're the oldest in the class, we expected to mentor the year 7s, and help our tutor during 'activities' which is complete ********.

Hopefully they'll remove us 6th formers from this ******** 'vertical tutoring'.

I'm totally with you here, I failed my AS Levels and to an extent I'm glad, I've been accepted into College and I was told that if I completed/passed the 2 year course I'd come out with 360 UCAS points and my brother got 3 D's in A LEVEL and got like 280.

I can imagine that to be so true. I stayed at my school for sixth-form and it was so patronising. For one of my English classes we didn't have specific classroom and when we tried to have the lesson in the library, we'd be kicked out by a year 7 class so they could have their reading time :S. No wonder I got **** grades.

Once I found out about EMA, I had no intention of leaving though .

Unless you have an apprent/career/job with prospects, don't quit untill atleast you have got some real qualifications. Everyone has GCSE's, i mean everyone, every man and his dog. They will not get you anywere, unless you have alot of luck. It's only 2 years of your life for an exponential output of improved quality of life later on.

Or just quit and go into the army as cannon fodder
